http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=41847:: I want to enter my dog into a Competiton, though I'm a starter, what do I do! ::
If you are a starter in the Dog Competiton, you've really got to work hard in earning a Rank, showing is not easy, you have to get every little detail as realistic as possible. Always consult with a profensional in your breed stock before you think of enterering a show. These are the basics in the Show Ring
:: Grooming ::Grooming is one of the key elements in showing, you have to have your dog cleaned, brushed and trimmed into the origninal Cut of your breed.
:: WARNING WHEN GROOMING :: If you have put your Dog in the hands of a starter groomer beware! When trimming, some parts of the Dogs fur may not grow Back!
:: Training ::Always put your dog in the hand of a good trainer when doing a trot in the Show ring, also, the person showing the dog doesn't have to be the breeder (YOU). The Dog must know how to walk sensibly in the Ring, how to behave itself when the judge is ibserving the Dog and touching it. In addition, make sure your dog when showing starts at a young age, so get the dog into the Puppy Class if you want it to be a proper Show dog.
