Subject: Wild Bird Roleplay Sat Dec 11, 2010 4:32 am

This is a Wild Bird Roleplay.
Season: Autumn
Focas: Starting the RP.

Okay, so this is Wild Birds, you may choose a sutable Breed that is easy and fun to Roleplay as. By birds, I don't want poultry, I don't mind Geese, Ducks and other Water Foul.
Alrighty, I hope you guys have fun with this, and I shall be sorting out the Rules now:

Rules and Regulations for your Character
:: These Birds are meant to be realistic, so super powers or unrealistic qualities.
:: Please, don't make an unrealistic colour or eye colour, before considering to do your Application, please study the birds features!
:: Please, no mythical Birds: (Phoenixs, Gryphons etc ...)
:: The aim of the Game is to migrate safely together.

[Gunnar's biography is in my biography thread :3, though it says it is under construction I can join? O.o]

Gunnar sat on a bare oak tree. His feathers ruffled for warmth as he knew winter was approaching rapidly. Though this set-back seemed like a dare, to see who could stay out in the cold without dying the longest. He hadn't worked out what kind of dare it was, assuming he would probably improvise when the time came. His long forked tail flicked back and forth slightly, like a clock. Waiting to see anymore birds his keen eyes observing the landscape, he hadn't talked to many in a while and would gladly accept anybody as a friend.

[I made a character biography for my bird, so may I join now? (If anything is wrong with it, post it there. C;)]

Ulotka flew across the dark sky, the sea breeze that had filled her lungs being replaced by dry air. She let out a loud call that was like all other albatrosses, watching her huge shadow below her as it came over the tree tops. She made a sharp turn around, back toward the ocean. swopping down, she catches a small fish and lets it slide down her throat before she turns back around to face the land. She glides forward, returning to the area above the trees. Seeing a figure below her, she flys down, landing on the ground before turning to face a smaller bird.

Gunnar noticed the small speck turn into a large bird. With a wingspan of about 10ft - at least. He was rather stunned, contemplating if he was even going to be bird food for a second. Soon shaking the thought off he had ruffled back up into his normal attitude. "Well, look what we've got right here!" He stated to the large bird. Gunnar was rather curious about this bird. Though tilted his head slightly, "Do your wings ever bash off branches when flying through narrow places? Oh, dude! That reminds me of that time me and my friend tried to soar through this forest and I mean the trees were like pretty much hugging eachother..." Gunnar paused, realizing he didn't even know this birds name. "Oh my name is Gunnar by the way."

Ulotka tilted her head slightly at the attitude of the other bird. Under her breath, she mumbled, "Ulotka," taking flight to land on the branch next to him, leaning over him. He was much smaller, though not the smallest bird she had ever seen. A sound comes from her throat, like what she would make at a rotting fish. Then she adds, "I don't think I would want to eat you. Say, if you didn't die, I might have to listen to you all day and night." She shakes her head as if to get the thought out of her mind, adding again with a sly smile, "No offense." She shakes her head again at all of the other questions, saying, "I can't answer more than one question at a time."

"None taken." Gunnar replied. Not really taking noticed of the fact Ulotka just insulted him in a way. An idea sparked in Gunnar's mind. "Don't you get tired keepin them wings up all day? I sure would." He asked. Gunnar shifted his wings so he was sitting in a more comfortable position, as if waiting for a story. He realised that Ultoka smelled strongly of the sea, like she had just been there. He wondered if there was loads of other huge-birds like her there. The thought was sort of unnerving considering how huge Ultoka was. Who knows mabye she was big for her species.

Ulotka straightened up, her talons grasping the branch harder as she looked up at the sky through the leaves. She replied, "If I wanted to, I could glide for hours without a single flap. What really kills me is staying still. And this land." She spreads her wings wide, and with a single gust from them, propels herself upward with great speed, tipping herself and making a circle without flapping. She faces downward, flying under the branch and then coming up to land on it again, her huge wings still spread. "See?" She asks without a hard breath.

"I know lots of birds that can do that." Gunnar replied, not really that impressed. He swooped off into the air scanning the below scene intently, doing a barrel-roll grabbing a twig with his talons swooping back up and banking left slashing through the air. He landed beside Ulotka "Though that wasn't exactly impressive either. It's pretty cool watching all those little birds though that fly together in giant groups. That is real skill they look like waves of an ocean." He replied, remembering watching some sort of display at sunset when he was younger.

Ulotka makes a soft grunt. "Well, my kind weren't very interested in that in that either," she says, closing her wings. "Though when I was younger, still with my family, we would sometimes fly like that, to mimmick the ocean we flew over. But we could never get it exzactly right." She shakes her head at some sad memory. "I must return to the sea air. This dry air gives me a headache. You may come, if you'd like. It's only a short flight from here to the island I'll be stopping at." She lets out a laugh. "For me, at least." She pulls her wings out again, flying slower than usual to get high in the air, proceeding back to the ocean breeze.

Oakla watches the two birds chatter amundst themselves. She scrapes the wood on the branch ever so slightly, making a notisible sound to the two, she quivvers in her position and looks around to see if danger is lurcking. She takes off into the Sky and hovers. Of course, she is a bird of prey, a Kestrel to be prosise, and proud to be one. Her agile feathers give her unbeatable control wehn searching for prey, she spots a Rabbit lurcking the shadows of an Oak tree, and glides gracefuly down picking the Rabbit up with killer instincs. "Yes!" She said to herself proudly as it was the first meal of the Day.

Gunnar closely followed behind Ulotka. "I don't really mind the air. Aslong as I can breath I am fine." He replied to Ulotka. He sees another bird- it looked like a kestrel. Though the red kite didn't take much notice but let out an insistent, high pitched mewing. The very distinct sound from a Red Kite. As if encouraging the bird to follow. Gunnar paused for a minute to see if they would come as well.

Oakla looked down and saw to the other Birds squabbaling about something with no importance.
Suddenly, the wind changed corse, sensing a stronger gust of wind, she made a emergency exit and landed gracefuly but speedily down to the Branch she was once on, she quivvered once again, since she was on a very low Branch, struggling, she looks abover her croaching ready to fly, when she hears them talk again. She slowly comes over saying: "Is everyhting alright" In a quite, Lady-like fashion.

Gunnar looks over to Oakla "Sure is lady." He replies ruffling his feathers while in air, he had managed to get an orographic lift managing to imitate the kestrels hovering ability. "Just wondering if you wanted to join us. My friend Ulotka here and me were heading to the ocean cause she said she doesn't like the in-land air. I personally don't mind it. My name is Gunnar by the way whats yours?" The red kite asked, as in his very chatty mood felt like making conversation.

Oakla turned away in embarassment! She was all puffed up. "Theres good hunting grounds here, and I have a nest coming along, I don't want to have to leave now" She said rushing all those words out, "My name is.." She hesitated a bit, she had turned so very shy ever since she was a chick "Oakla". She was silent for a few minutes until her next sentance.
"Well ... I might join you, what pretty feathers you have" She said poiltely perking up a bit.

Gunnar let out a slight chuckle to the bird. "Well it is nearing winter. Don't you migrate? Oh and thanks. I'm a red kite if you didn't know" He said finishing on a quite prideful note. Gunnar thought this new bird was rather shy. Though didn't say anything about it. "I'm sure Ulotka wouldn't mind you joining." Seeing the large albatross now further away. Realizing he was falling behind. "If you want to come along you better be quick I don't think Ulotka wants to wait."

Oakla didn't liked to be laughed at, so she flew away to her desitation on the Branch. Her eyes full of embarassment, she flyed again away high in the air hovering out of sight of Gunnar. She shook her head, trying to reasure herself she said: "I was going to leave soon anyway" She turned away and started flying, "I don't want to waste my energy" she thought to herself over and over again, so she desided to take a 'pit-stop' by a Slow flowing Lake. She sighed, she was exhausted.

"I didn't mean it that way!" He called back to Oakla. Gunnar sighed though knew he probably couldn't do anything about it. He quickly darted around and flew after Ulotka. Shaking his mind of that other bird. He doubted he would see her again anyway.
After flying for a while he was already beginning to small the ocean breeze, and had caught up with Ulotka again. He didn't bother to try make conversation he wasn't really in the mood after that encounter with the kestrel.

Her keen hearing heard the sound of him shouting, she desided to turn around and fly with him ... she was going back to apoligies, she finally caught up with him, by the time she did, it ws getting dark.
" Gunnar! Gunnar!" She shouted out, spilling out her energy. "I'm sorry" She gasped, "I'm sorry" She started to slow down, by the time she did, all the energy was out, and they where far out to sea.

Gunnar was surprised to see Oakla. "S'fine." He replied. Gunnar gazed out at the horizon the sky was beginning to go dark as it spluttered out its last magnificent display of colour in oranges, reds, pinks and yellows. Gunnar turned to look at Oakla "You look tired." He said bluntly stating the obvious. "Want to stop?" Gunnar asked. Though he guessed that Ulotka would probably keep flying on with those massive wings he didn't want to feel as if the kestrel was getting dragged along. "We could possibly catch up with Ulotka later unless she wants to stop aswell. Unless you don't want to. You can get a very useful orographic lift" He replied, Gunnar always was told about it when he was learning to fly.

Oakly hadhardly any breath in her, totally worn out. "I'm not cut out for this! I have to stop!" She shouted with her last breath. She was nearlly asleep, with her wings curling, she was finding it hard to fly. Her eyes beamed at the Sunset, it's glorious colours gave her life again, but not enough. She landed gracefuly on a sandy Bank, starving, tried and only Gunnar there to help her. "Whos Ulotka?" She asked Gunnar with curiosity.

[I've been with Ulotka for a while now :L]

"The giant albatross i've been flying with for a while. Ain't you seen her! She has like 10 ft wings its incredible." He replied, remembering how awed he was by how big she was. Gunnar was now sitting down on the sand. Even though the sun was setting the sand still felt hot on his feet. Though a slight rumble in his stomach alerted him. Realizing the fact they were pretty much in the middle of nowhere or on the island Ulotka was talking about. He had a very vague idea on how to catch fish but he wasn't really much of a fisher. Gunnar guessed he would have to give it a go.
He sliced through the air as he took off again. Flapping to gain height. He saw the other sea birds do this but had no idea how hard it was. When he sought a suitable altitude he began to dive, tucking his wings close to his chest. In seconds he was in the spine-tingling cold of the sea, he felt it slightly Gunnar snapped about for a fish but there wasn't many and he couldn't see to well. Luckly he hadn't gone to deep and managed to resurface. Gunnar paddled himself back to Oakla now soaked and feeling a tinge of cold.

[Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My computer got a very annoying virus. :C But it should be better now.]

Finally deciding to land, Ulotka allowed herself to sit in the sand. She nodded at the new bird, who she hadn't even noticed before. She laughed a bit a Gunnar, soaked and swimming in the water. "Well, that's not the best way to do it," she said, taking off again toward the water. She cut around other large albatrosses, also fishing. Seeing a shadow in the water, she propelled herself downward, pulling her beak through the top of it and catching a fish before pulling herself up and landing on the beach again. She dropped the fish in front of Gunnar, saying, "Tah, dah," before walking out and swimming next to another albatross to socialize for a while.

Oakly's instinct's told her not to trust such a big Bird, so she backed away slowly and plodded away. "I'm going to stretch my wings" She said to Gunnar and Ulotka, trying to make an excuse to leave the scene. She started by some gentle flapping and then became more vigarous

"Well mabye you could teach me?" He asked Ulotka before seeing her plod of to the other giant albatrosses. Just as he was about to go talk to Oakla she went off as well. Gunnar contemplated Oakla's quietness, he really didn't like it that much and it was probably the thing he hated most - quiet birds. Quiet-ness is only needed when hunting. He had no idea why she was to quiet but didn't go ask. Gunnar couldn't exactly expect a meaningful response from the bird.
After being ditched by both of his friends it left him in a foul mood. Unsure of what to do he swooped up onto the highest branch of a nearby tree observing the view.

Showing off to the other birds, Ulotka caught another fish and let it slide down her throat to her stomach before hearing the noise of Gunnar's wings. Turning in his direction, she sees him in his perch and says to the albatrosses, "Excuse me." Flying up to his perch, she lands next to him, watching the other albatrosses feed. "Sorry," she says glumly, as if his mood were her fault. "You would like to learn to fish? If you would, you might as well learn from the best," she says, puffing up her feathers and stretching her large wings. She quickly glances down at Oakla, adding, "What's up with her?"
